Dean has spent 10+ years working across commercial and research settings in the medical device industry. As an advocate of digital healthcare and the utilisation of digital technology to improve health outcomes, Dean has spearheaded Innovation Zed’s transition and growth towards providing an end-to-end digital health service for both Pharma and MedTech specialising in diabetes healthcare.

John is the co-founder of Innovation Zed and brings a personal commitment to improving diabetes care as a person living with type 1 diabetes. With a background in computer science and a history of founding technology companies, John contributes strategic insight and user-focused vision to the company’s growth.

William Cirillo

William is a co-founder of Innovation Zed, overseeing hardware, firmware, and mechanical design. With a background in applied physics and over 25 years of experience across R&D, finance, and manufacturing, he drives the technical innovation behind the company’s connected insulin solutions.

Marcus is Chief Growth Officer at SHL Medical, where he leads global commercial strategy and market development. With a background in finance and deep experience in medtech innovation, Marcus brings strategic insight and growth-focused leadership to Innovation Zed’s Board of Directors since 2018.

Gabor is General Manager at SHL Technologies Ltd., bringing extensive leadership experience from the medtech manufacturing sector. As a member of the Board of Directors since 2016 at Innovation Zed, he provides valuable insight into operational strategy, global production, and quality systems.

Dr Robert Gabbay
Robert A. Gabbay, MD, PhD, FACP is Associate Professor at Harvard Medical School and the Joslin Diabetes Center, former Chief Scientific and Medical Officer of the American Diabetes Association (ADA), and former Chief Medical Officer of the Joslin Diabetes Center.

Throughout his vibrant career he has had many accomplishments as a basic science researcher; developer of patient communication tools; creator of the first broad-scale diabetes registry; designer of care management training programs; digital health innovations; and leader of one of the largest primary care transformation efforts in the U.S. around the Patient Centered Medical Home.

The reach of his work has been recognized through leadership roles in national and international arenas. Along with an extensive peer reviewed publication record, he has appeared in, and is frequently quoted by, the popular press including The New York Times, CNN, The Washington Post, and NPR.

David Herrick
David Herrick is managing principal of Material Health Strategies and Chair Emeritus of the American Diabetes Association, one of the world’s leading healthcare associations.
At Material Health Strategies, David helps healthcare companies with growth consulting including market access; market awareness; positioning, differentiation and messaging; go-to-market strategy; and market adoption.
David’s strategies have previously helped power the reputations of many of the world’s leading companies including Walgreens, Samsung Mobile, U.S. Bank, Ford Motor Company, Sanofi and the Bristol-Myers Squibb Company.
David served on the Board of Directors and was elected Chair of the Board of the American Diabetes Association, serving through the end of 2020. During his tenure, he oversaw the organization’s CEO, advocated for people with diabetes at the highest levels of government, steered the Board through a period of strategic change, and strengthened relationships with the global professional community that forms the heart of the ADA’s scientific mission.
Previously, David was U.S. President of the global communications firm Burson / Cohn & Wolfe and served as Chief Operating Officer of MWW, an international marketing communications agency.
David received his B.A. and M.B.A. from the University of Washington.
